Here is my first build. I want to know peoples opinions. I ordered the stuff today.

MoBo = Asus p8z68 -V LE with USB 3.0 Header

CPU = i5 2500k

RAM = Kingston 8GB DDR3 1333

SSD = Intel 510 Series 120GB SATA 3

HDD = Western 1TB Caviar Black SATA-600

Optical Drive = LG DVD RW +/- Burner & Media Card Reader

GPU = Sapphire HD 6950 2GB Dirt 3 Edition (choose this edition since it has 2 fans)

Case = Cooler Master Storm Enforcer

PSU = Cooler Master Silent Pro M 700 Watt 80+

O/S = Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1

Please keep in mind I live in Canada and my selection is limited. Even newegg.ca would have had to bring in most of this list from over the boarder resulting in increased shipping, and issues with any returns or repairs these parts might run into.

Yes it does have 3 fans which is great but it's only 1GB instead of 2GB. I really wanted the 2GB to help future proof the system a bit more since more games are coming out with requirements of using more than 1 GB.

The Cooler Master power supplies always get beat up on the forums but not all Cooler Master PSU's are the same.

This particular one has great reviews and is of good quality.

Here is a random review = http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story4&reid=134

Looks ok. And the Cooler Master is not bad quality. I would have got another brand but on the scale of power supplies you could have done alot worse. It has 600W on the 12V rail with 50 amps. But every thing should be fine.

Yeah looks to be in the mid to high-end area, that i5 will overclock wonderfully but please, please get an aftermarket CPU cooler with it because the stock one is terrible, even if you are going to just stick with stock speeds.

And I second what jonny said about the 570, if you can afford to spend a bit extra for it the performance increase will be well worth it.

The comments about the graphics card have forgot to ask 1 crucial question.

What resolution are you playing at and what specific make and model of monitor?

Well that is yet to be determined. I have a 20" wide screen Acer right now but plan to upgrade. Might even go Eyefinety with 3 monitors and sacrifice a bit of FPS. Not sure...

Should max just about anything at 1920x1080 and under. Battlefield 3 recommends a 6950, so you might want to do Crossfire in the future.
