I am going to be building a PC, piece by piece. This is what I am currently looking at putting together. I would like feedback as far as compatibility, set up, cases, missing units, etc etc.

Processor:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4GHz Quad Core (AM3)
(no link, already own)

Motherboard:
GIGABYTE GA-990XA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990X SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

RAM
Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) Desktop Memory Model 996991
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226188

Video Card:
GeForce GTX 560
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130661

Power Supply (this I might need help on)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371016

Hard Drive
HITACHI Deskstar 5K3000 HDS5C3020ALA632 (0F12117) 2TB 32MB Cache

Case: (very open to suggestion)

Aside from some CD/DvD drives, am I missing anything? Does something there not work with something else? The only absolute piece is the processor, the rest can be changed around. If you think a single item could be replaced at a similar (or <200$) price range with more efficiency, I'm all ears.

Could it be suggested that I run 2 video cards? I've never considered this before and have no clue how it might work. Is it only suggested if I am running 2 monitors? Does it split a single load between them?

Same goes for hard drive. I am a software hoarder, I could certainly use the space after some time. Would it be better to stick with one internal and anything else external, or would 2 internal be ideal?

Thank you for your time.

2 GPUs in SLI/CF treat themselves as 1GPU with the same amout of ram and double the amount of stream processors. Basically, it would be like form going from a C2D to a C2Q at the same speed. Double the performance.

As for the hard drive. Negatory. That brand is crap (I got one of their HDDs in a laptop and its really slow. Like lower read and write than a WD 4200RPM IDE drive.) GO for a 7200.11 RPM Western Digital Black or F3/F4.

everything looks good other than that.

Are you going to SLi/ CF?
If yes, go for 990FX chipset for only $10 more. If not, go for cheaper 970 chipset.

HDD - I usually go with Seagate/ WD

PSU - That is enough for one GPU. If you want two, get 750W

Case - This seems to provide very good value for money

If you want Antec 900, instead of paying $12.99 for shipping, go for 902 with $120, MIR $20, FS

I don't know the difference between SLi and CF (though I know that CF means crossfire).

I really appreciate all the feedback and information you guys are supplying me with. Thank you!

look at the coolermaster haf 922 case, the antec 900's tend to have horrable cable management, but they are decent still.

also the ram is fine but save the money and get 1600, you'll be fine with that. and the psu isn't that good, good brand but get a higher end one or it isn't really going to benefit you much

also you will need a copy of windows, it's 100 for the oem 64-bit which is what you want.
