As the title says "I am a newb at building computers".

I have lots of exp. with the computer, just not building them.

I am starting my first build and need some advice on what mobo to get.

My set of "Rules" are:

It must be Intel based.
I am going to use a Duo Core 2 chip.
Plenty of room for upgrading.
I think that raid is a good idea.
Ease of use and dependability is a +.

At this time I am not a big gamer, but some gaming is possible in the future. I do lots of work with Autodesk programs, so it will have to be able to handle all those programs well.

If you guys have any ?'s for me, or need me to clarify something then please let me know.

I look forward to reading all comments.
Thanks in Advance,
Jason

the gigabyte ds3 board is all the craze as far as i can see for the core2duos...only 140ish and the s3 version is even cheaper, the only difference as far as i can see is the capacitor quality.

get that, e6300, some good ram(like corsair xms ddr2 800) n u got urself a beast, along with a good gpu

I would definitely also recommend the Gigabyte DS3 and S3 boards. I have the AM2 S3G, and it is awesome, bordering stellar. :D I love it, and I think you will too.

ya i now wish i didnt rush and get my asus...has no support from asus lol
i just couldnt pass up the damn graphics card deal i found...now wish i had gotten the ds3 and the corsair xms ddr2 800 and a single gpu

thats just the overclocker in me wanting more than i have tho lol...had i gotten that i would have wished for something more like an x1900xtx or 7950 or something...once you get into building computers ur fricking hooked i tell ya
