hehe sorry, you are about 5/6 posts late
There are deffinately much more powerful processors, they are not for home use though. The xeon is an exmple of one which is open freely to the public, but as hs been said, it is for servers, not home systems.
The roadrunner made by IBM (the worlds most powerful super computer) has a few thousand processors and each costs a few thousand each and they are VERY powerful, so there are deffinately much more powerful ones than the i7, but they are either not openly available or they are not gettable by the average joe because of their massive price tage and the size of the system that would be needed to accomodate it
