Hi, im upgrading my pc, and looking to build a nice powerful Desktop, now last time I upgraded it was 2.5 years ago and I just never follow the new stuff, and now im lost.

So the easiest way was just to look up bundles like this one.

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4680384&CatId=333

Discard the case im not crazy enough to pay almost 1000 bucks for a case, but other than that, is that a great setup? Or should I reconsider anything? Or add?

Please post your advise, also what kind of cooling, and sound card should i get, case advise would be a nice too.

Thanks alot!

Yeah, that's a great build, minus graphic card. That board is overkill unless you're a hardcore enthusiast.

Here's a pretty decent Core i7 build.

$1392.91 USD before rebates
$1302.91 USD after rebates

Core i7 920 ($279.99)

Foxconn FlamingBlade LGA 1366 ($209.99 )
($189.99 after Rebate)

OCZ Gold 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 ($99.99)
($89.99 after Rebate)

CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX ($139.99)
($109.99 after Rebate)

XFX Radeon HD 4890 ($194.99 )

Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB ($229.99)
($199.99 after Rebate)

COOLER MASTER HAF 922 ($99.99 )

LG Black SATA CD/DVD Burner with LightScribe ($27.99)

Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit ($109.99)
Includes free Windows 7 upgrade coupon

As far as coolers go, I have this CPU heat sink/fan.
Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 $71.99

There's others out there that will recommend different coolers.
Pretty much the same performance, give or take a few degrees.
