Hi Speed USB?

I have an older IBM desktop. I recently got the Hi Speed ethernet card through Alltel. I plugged it in and downloaded the software, but it told me I dont have Hi Speed USB ports or w/e. Can I go to a computer store and buy Hi Speed USB ports and just install them my self?

I dont quite get the point, just because you install a ethernet card why it matters if you have USB 2.0 or not. Your going to use the ethernet port on the card not the USB. But yes you can buy USB 2.0 PCI cards

thats just the message it gave me. There is a USB plug on this wireless controller and it has an antenna....It just says something about my computer not having HI SPEED USB so the connection may be slower....

you can add a PCI USB 2.0 card if you really want. is the ethernet card PCI or USB?

IDK what PCI is? It plugs into the USB port. Gives me messages about NOT having a HI SPEED USB so Id guess its USB...

Yes, that means that the ethernet card is USB 2.0 compliant(that does not mean that it will not work on your current USB port).

It really does not matter if you change it or not, as you will not see much difference.
But you could consider upgrading to USB 2.0
