Hidden files

i put a few files onto my external hdd and i right clicked and then i hide them, problem is i dont know how to get them back and can i? i should be able to. im having a stupid day today and its really showing. so how do i get them back? thanks!!! :o
 
Well, as you said, you hid them, so all you should need to do is unhide them in order to see/find them. Go to the folder you believe they are locate, C drive, My documents, etc., than go to the Tools menu, Folder Options, View tab, and look for hidden files and folders, make sure 'show hidden files' is selected. If you still cant find them, try doing a search of the hard drive.

nice one, its sorted, i just could figure it out. so what is the point in hiding files? i done it out of a spur of the moment lets hide them, is there any real uses for it? :D

Often games add a save game folder or something similar to My Documents, which I find really annoying when, like me, you have your My Documents very well organised. In those instances I hide their folder, so as not to affect the game. Sometimes games are picky (I think NFS:MW is one of them), and don't work even with hidden files, but usually just applying changes to the outside folder can get around that problem.

makes it look tidy. Else you see thumbs.db files in all your pic folders etc...
 
jdbennet - Use the "Quote" button on the members post you'd like to quote. It's much easier and looks nicer. :)
