Hidden Folder option gone!!!

Hi.

I have hidden folders on my PC which obviously when I want to access them I go into Folder Options - View - Show Hidden Files. Today I have gone in there and that option has completely disappeared. All my folders are now visible to all. I cannot hide them anymore because of that option being gone. Does anyone know how this happened and how to get it back to normal.

Find this key in your registry:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden]

Modify the string value "Type" and enter "group" as value data.

After the edit is complete hit F5 to refresh, and go look in your Folder Options.

try clicking restore defaults. dont know if it will work tho, as this has never happend to me
