Hey everyone, been on here a few times looking for a computer build but always held off, now I'm commited to follow through.
Just need some help making sure everything is compatible and also making sure I'm getting the most out of my money.

EDIT:

Ok so this is my build list below as it stands. Anything else that you think needs changed?

Current list of parts: http://www.ebuyer.com/lists/list/108787
Total: £908.55

Pretty happy with the downgrade from the GTX670 the the HD7950 after researching it a little more, seems like I can alwys overclock and get close if not slightly over the same specs as the 670?

No need to worry about the operating system, keyboard or mouse.

Cheers. :good:

HD 7950 would drop cost a bit.

Get rid of that drive. It is completely unreliable. Only buy from Seagate, Western Digital, or Samsung.

You can drop down to a FX4300 or FX6300, but I would not if I were you.

You can get by without the cooler if you need to save money.

Case can probably be had better for cheaper. It is fine if you want it, but it is not worth the price.

How much do you want to drop?

Mobo - Can go for cheapest Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H to save £10 if you want to.

RAM - Can get DDR3 1600 to save £10 if you want to

Case - Could choose a cheaper case like Sharkoon T9 if you want to.

HDD - Why 2.5"? 3.5" is for desktop

DVD drive - Lite on is at £13

GPU - 7950

SSD - I suggest you get a SSD.

PSU - modular for extra £5, worth considering

Thanks you guys, updated and cut my costs by nearly £100 already!

Not looking to drop too much Daisy, just that originally I was expecting to pay around 700 tops, so going over was somewhat of a shock - getting over it though and I think it will be worth the extra few quid overall. :P

Updated list is here for reference http://www.ebuyer.com/lists/list/108025

Changed graphics card to the Saphire HD 7950, hope that brand is alright? Few free games too which is more than welcome. Just campared againto the gtx670 and it seems the saving the extra £50 or so if worth it, can always overclock if time calls for it, which I'm sxure you guys can help me with.

Also made other changes concerning hard drives (didn't know about the sizes daisy haha), opticale drive, psu moduale etc. Gonna have another look in a minute and make sure I made all the changed I wanted to do.

Only other thing was the SSD. I see most of them are 2.5"?
Do I buy some kind of adaptor so that it fits into the 3.5" slot?
What size would you reccomend, 60GB? 120? http://www.ebuyer.com/268239-ocz-60gb-agility-3-ssd-agt3-25sat3-60g

Is my monitor ok? Cheapest one I could find on Ebuyer for the size...

Thanks again!

There are no 3.5 SSDs. You can buy an adapter, but really, not needed. Some cases' hard drive slots have a space to screw in the SSD. If it does not, just screw it to the side of one of the HDD slots. It doesn't have any moving parts so you don't need it secure all the way.

60Gb if you are only installing windows and highly-used small programs. 120Gb if you wanna fit a couple of highly-used games on the SSD.

Modular PSU is not required. Most of the cables will hide behind the side of the case. That would save money but modular is nice.

There actually are 3.5" SSD's but they're not common. All SSD's that are 2.5" will come with an adapter. Your case will also include at least one 2.5" to 3.5" adapter.

I have 64.5GB free on my 120GB SSD but I've done a lot of tweaks (turning off pagefile and hibernation for one)

Here's my current build. Comes to £908.55

Added the cheapest 120GB SSD I could find on Ebuyer.

Still not 100% on monitor, but none of you have picked up on so I'm guessing it will do me fine? It's LCD not LED, though not sure if its worth spending any more for LED? It's 24", 5 ms responce time, 1920 x 1800, cheapest I could find for £104.99.

About ready to order.

It all looks OK to me. I'd say you should probably order.

Can you get a 7200 RPM drive for a little more though? The Green drives are slow.

Not all 2.5's/cases come with an adapter but like said, doesn't take much to mount one. Even velcro or 2 sided sticky pad will do.
