High end rig with parts list! Check it out and drop a suggestion

Overclocking isn't everything. I would much rather run two GPU's in SLI, than overclock and overheat my core clocks. Becides, a core2 duo is plenty fast. And if I want to overclock, I still can. I'm not sure if you read the whole post, but I'm running this through a 37" Lg LCD flatscreen in true 1080p HD. Graphic quality is more important for me now.
 
I'm not that comfortable with ATI (or AMD) for that matter. I have always been an nvidia and intel kind of guy. Anyways, I'll just stick with my choices. Now, the only question is if I should hold off for directX 10 in a few weeks? I'll probably have to pick a whole nother mobo to support the x10 cards eh?
 
Well, this sure is an exciting time. With intel core 2 quad and direct x10 comming out, I have decided to hold off on my build till the prices drop for the holidays or after the new year. In my search I have found what I believe to be, the best next gen mobo for my needs. Check it out.

EVGA nForce 680i SLI NVIDIA Socket 775 ATX Motherboard / Audio / PCI Express / SLI / Dual Gigabit LAN / S/PDIF / USB 2.0 & Firewire / Serial ATA / RAID

This mobo is certified to run intel's core 2 quad processor. It is SLI ready which was absolutely one of my criteria. And probably the most impressive attribute to this moterboard, is it will run 4 gigs of dual channel 1200 Mhz SLI ready memory! That is absolutely fantastic. 1200 Mhz memory isn't even on the market yet, but it's great knowing that when it does come out, this mobo will take it. Apparently, this mobo is also meant for OC'ing.

So, what does everyone think?

Updated the ram component on my first post. 1200Mhz sli certified doesn't exist yet, so I will go with this for now. What do you think?

4-4-4-12 timing on those sticks. I won't be overclocking them however. Instead when I need a little more performance I will just go with some 1200Mhz SLI sticks. Hopefully they will be on the market and affordable by the time I need them.

Oh, I will be going with a 8 series from nvidia. However, I'm going to take advantage of the step up program from eVGA and hopefully when I do make the purchase their prices will have dropped a little bit. Thanks.
 
Update...Deciced to go with an EVGA 8800gtx! Think I should upgrade the PSU? Eventualy I'm going to run two 8800gtx's in SLI, but obviously not for a while. Thanks.

For SLI'd 8800GTXS, yes. The S12 600W is a nice PSU, but for SLI'd 8800GTXs it would pay to get something better. The Silverstone ST75ZF, PC Power and Cooling Silencer 750W or Seasonic M12 700W would be my choices.
 
So, can anyone recomend a sound card to go with this rocking system? Remember, this will be my gaming/home entertainment system. Thanks.
 
Ok, ok, I know I keep saying I'm going to build this rig, but I keep putting it off and things keep changing as far as price goes. So, It's going around that the intel chips are going to drop in price within the next few weeks, and once that happens I'm going to finnaly pull the triger. Listed below is the final build.
