higher speed CPU ?

Computer is Custom built in mid tower case and has AMD Athlon 1800 CPU. This is too slow for video editing and I need a faster system. How do I get information on selecting an upgrade CPU and/or main board?
 
Do you want to replace your motherboard and CPU, and use the rest of the parts from your old system?

If so you will most likely need to replace the Ram as well. But you can probably use your old Hard drives and DVD player.

How much do you want to spend, and will video editing be all your going to do with it? No gaming?
