Hello, this looks like a smitfraud infection, let's see:

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)

Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe.
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

**If the tool fails to launch from the Desktop, please move SmitfraudFix.exe directly to the root of the system drive (usually C:), and launch from there.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Yeah, I ran smitrem. It's actually something along the lines of vundo. I used the free version of SUPERAntispyware. It cleaned it right up.

So you got rid of it?
Post a fresh HJT, I spotted a few malware on this HJT, let's make sure they're gone...

Here you go, Norton still keeps picking up the Vundo stuff, so it's not completely gone yet.

He's already run SuperAntispyware. Anyway, let's kill this infection:

1. Please download this file - Combofix to your desktop
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply together with a new HijackThis log.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

that link was to show how lowly rated that app is

When we help people we want to be as accurate as possible. Therefore some explanation would be good, not just give them links and let them wonder what it's about...

Anyways, yes Addle_brains, Combofix should be a good idea.

he had already been helped, sorry if I made u cry
Anyways, yes Addle_brains, Combofix should be a good idea.

wow u are so helpful

he had already been helped, sorry if I made u cry

wow u are so helpful

What's your problem dude?
I'm just giving you advice that I got when I was learning these fixes!

Don't know why you reacted like that, there was nothing offending in my post...

BTW: My last line was to tell him to go and see Ceewie1's post.

When we help people we want to be as accurate as possible. Therefore some explanation would be good, not just give them links and let them wonder what it's about...
he had already been helped as I said...I was simply giving him a little info on his choice of antispyware, obviously since he got infected it isn't working. some people do not do any research. Maybe his friend told him it was great, there is all kinds of bad advice out there.
Just fixing someones existing problem will only help them so much as they can easily be reinfected without adequate protection. :)

Yeah I got that, but I was only saying that showing him a link to some websites without ANY explanation will not help him at all... He might not even look at it.

A little explanation doesn't hurt :P

Yes he had already been helped but he still has some spyware, that's why I told him to follow Ceewie1's instructions.
