I know, I don't want to buy it. It was meant as a joke.
I know, I was referring to the person who was thinking about buying it for a server.hence the title of the thread
I wouldnt take that piece of junk for free, let alone pay for it.

 its ok for what it is. The shipping is ludicrous, but I can think of lots of uses for such a machine. I have less powerful rugs doing all sorts of stuff right now.
I must say I don't agree with what ian said... I'd take it for free, but.... the description is ridiculous. The guy is quite the optimist.
It really isn't that awful of a deal. A quick search of completed listings shows that the 7500 goes for at least $100, often $200 or more. You can get a keyboard for only $12 shipped, and a RAM cover for $9.50 shipped. A format and a windows reinstall later and it's good as new.
So $74 + $12 + $9.50 = $95.50
If you sell it for $200 (not an unreasonable expectation) then you make a quick $100 profit with minimal effort.
And yes, I know $200 is a lot for such an outdated notebook, but check for yourself, that is what it goes for. People are stupid when it comes to used laptop prices.
Ok, I overlooked that...
So $17 for the power supply and $25 for the battery brings it up to $137.50
$60 is still not an unreasonable profit.
Dell sells Inspiron batteries for $150. Btw, didn't you forget to figure the shipping into all that?
