HIS Radeon HD 6950 IceQ X Turbo 2GB

Yup, it will work. Damn, trifiring 6950s and you have the shaders unlocked. What a beast. Upgrade to an 8-core bulldozer and your system really could do some damage.

Yep, waiting for that and gonna buy new mobo and bulldozer.

Only reason I wanna do this is to crush crysis 2 on ultra settings dx 11 with high res textures pack and maxed out tessellation. :D

You're gonna be maxing out Crysis 5!

Lol, I expect some pretty extreme performance. Do you guys think I can maintain 60fps on the top end games?

I wonder if that setup can handle ubersampling on the witcher 2

I post pics once everything is all finished up :D

You don't need tri-fired 6950's to run Crysis 2 on max settings, unless you are running 3 high-res monitors

Aastii is right. Besides, your CPU would probably bottleneck before you could really push the 3 cards anyway. Whether that will happen with a BD chip is yet to be seen.

So I am guessing that your low FPS issue was not resolved.
Did you try a new set of memory?
Also I think tri-firing the 6950's is not a good idea.I would suggest selling of the 6950's and getting a GTX 580 or an HD6990(if using three monitors with fullhd+ resolutions).

Also this will save you from getting a 1000W+ PSU

I have tried using a new set of memory, i am now using 1600mhz 16gb corsair vengeance. Did not do anything. I cannot find a hd 6990 anywhere in stock, if not i would have bought it already. I still get low fps

I would strongly recommend getting a single card and selling off the 2 HD6950s.
imagine the heat produced by 3 Hd 6950s and their power requirements and if any problem arises then their troubleshooting also would be a pain.
And then you are also narrowing your upgrade options. And also the driver issues which may exist for some games.
And then there is also cable management and lack of proper airflow in the case with 3 Huge GPUs.

You can aslo try tigerdirect or amazon for an HD6990 or you can contact the manufacturer directly.

neither have the card in stock. there are 2 month backorders

The HIS IceQ cooler has always performed well for me, with each iteration on each card I've used with it. As above, same card/chip, different cooler and OEM. Might affect where you have to send it for warranty but that shouldn't be an issue.
