History Of Computers Owned

Here's mine first and I have had a lot since the first in my families house in 1997 and the year I got them so I hope it doesn't make the post too long.

1. Amiga 500+ (1997) - Got broken when I pulled the thing out at the side of keyboard whatever you used to call them.

2. Amiga 500 (1997)

3. Amiga 1200 (1998)

4. Windows 98 (2000)

5. Windows XP (2002) - The longest lasting computer.

6. Windows Vista (2008)

7. Second Windows Vista (2011)

8. Second Windows XP (2012)

9. Third Windows XP (2012)

10. Forth Windows XP (2012), Windows 7 (2013) - Got updated when the xp got a virus.

11. Fifth Wondows XP (2013)

12. Windows 8.1 (2014) - Only just got it :D

A lot of the recent ones have been bough second hand so I hope this one lasts longer. I wonder if anyone can beat 12. Also there is a sixth xp which I'm not counting in for backup.

Nice list. I could beat 12 easily. I bought my first PC in 1984 (DOS 2.1) and have had so many since then I couldn't possibly remember them all.

Just in the room I'm sitting in right now I have 7: 3 towers, 3 laptops and a netbook.

Had a Windows 95 based PC with some amazing motorcycling racing game I still dream about this day.
Then I had a Windows 98 one. No idea of specs on those two.
Then I got a dual core Intel PC with 1 whole GB of RAM and a dedicated AMD GPU!!
Then I got an Alienware (AMD Athlon 6400+, 4GB 800MHz RAM, NVIDIA 9800GT and ASUS M3A32-MVP Deluxe (best mobo ever))
Then I built my own first PC with Phenom II X2 555, 4GB 1333MHz and 5770 1GB
Then I built my second PC with i7-2600K, P8P67 B3, 8GB 1600MHz and 6950 2GB (a lot of items carried over to current build)
Then I rebuilt that system in to what I have now.

Those are my main systems. The ones I've never moved from A to B (like LAN parties etc)
I started building PCs for my dads company as 16 years old, got good, building more and more for friends, and slowly I stockpiled a large amount of hardware (got a hold of 30x Gigabyte G31M-S2L, Intel C2D E7200, Samsung HD320HJ and 2x2GB Corsair ValueRAM + 15x OEM cases for free after a company went under).

Currently I have:
Signature PC for gaming
Intel Xeon E5450, 2x2GB DDR2-667MHz, HD 5770 1GB, CX430M, GA-G31M-S2L
Intel Q6600 @ 3GHz, 2x2GB DDR2-667MHz @ 832MHz, HD 5770 1GB, GA-G31M-S2L
Intel Q8300, 2x2GB DDR2-667MHz, HD 5770 1GB, CX430M, GA-G31M-S2L
AMD Phenom II X4 965, 4x1GB 800MHz, HD 5450, CM SilentPro 1000W, ASUS M3A32-MVP Deluxe, 1x 320GB Samsung HD320HJ + 1x 2TB WD Green + 4x 3TB WD Green
AMD Phenom II X2 555, 2x2GB 1333MHz, ASUS AM3 mobo (dont remember :D), HD 5770 1GB, Samsung HD320HJ

Laptops:
MM-Vision (danish OEM, based on Clevo) with i7-920, 4GB 1333MHz, HD 5670M, 500GB SSHD
MM-Vision with i7-X (I belive it's something like i7-3620M), 8GB 1600MHz, HD 7970M, 500GB SSHD
Packard Bell with 9" monitor, 1.6GHz dual core Atom, 1GB RAM and integrated GPU :D Running Lubuntu

I get free volume licenses from work for Windows 7 btw :)

My first pc was in 2008 was a compaq presario with vista 32 bit.

Second pc was a medion akoya with win 7.

Thankfully since then I have built my own and other than 1 stupid mistake of building an amd tri core system they have all been intel based and been 775, 1155 or 1150 sockets.

The current systems I have is my main haswell i7 4770k, I have two sandybridges running pentium g840 & g860, one ivybridge with a pentium g2020 and just built another haswell with a g3258 anniversary cpu

Ever since building my first one in 8th grade it's pretty much just been an upgrade cycle. Here's a short list that only encompasses my primary desktop :p

MB : Azza KT3ABX -> Epox 8rda -> Soltek SL-K8TPro-939 -> Epox 9npa+ SLi -> ASRock M3A785GMH/128M -> Asus Crosshair V -> MSI Z97 U3+

GPU : 32M Geforce 2 MX 200 -> Geforce 3 -> 9600XT -> 7900GT -> 3870 -> 6950 -> R9 290

I already posted above but realized I left a large portion of my owned computer history out. Up until 2 years ago, I had a collection of vintage computers, predominately from the early IBM PC lineup (1980's).

IBM AT (2)
IBM XT/286
IBM XT
IBM PCjr (2)
IBM PC (2)
IBM Convertible
IBM P70 Portable (2)
Compaq Portable I
Tandy TRS80 (This was my oldest, from 1979)
Tandy TRS80 Model 100

All of them were in working order. I finally decided that collecting vintage computers required too much space to store them all (along with monitors, printers, keyboards and spare parts) so I ended up selling/giving away my collection. Now the oldest computer I own is from 2011.
