In the year 2008, Intel released the Socket LGA1366 line of processors. The time line then went as follows for Intel desktop processors:

September 2009 Socket LGA1156
January 2011 Socket LGA1155
November 2011 Socket LGA2011
June 2, 2013 Socket LGA1150

Does anyone know the month and year Intel released the LGA1366 and Socket LGA775? I have been looking for this information and cannot find it.

Thanks for the information.

So in November 2008 Socket LGA1366 was released. Socket LGA775 was introduced in 2004 but I cannot find the month on it.

QuickPath Interconnect was introduced with Socket LGA1366. But when was Advanced Micro Device's HyperTransport Technology released?

I found the information. Socket AM2 introduced May 23, 2006 also brought HyperTransport Technology with it. Correct me if I am wrong.

I still cannot find the month in the year 2004 Socket LGA775 was released though.

Late June 2004. The actual socket announcement may have been slightly earlier but that was the release date of the Extreme Edition on 775.

Thanks for the information Cromewell. Do you know who also released the first Dual-Core processor in 2005? Was it Intel or Advanced Micro Devices?

It really depends what you are talking about. Technically, I think IBM was first in the non-embedded world with the PowerPC 4 in 2001. But between Intel and AMD, I believe AMD was first. Then Intel started slapping 2 separate cores on a single die to beat AMD to the dual core desktop market.

Was that a typo error StrangleHold? Did you mean AMD's Socket 754? I think that is what you meant. Thanks for the information on HyperTransport.
