Hitachi, Seagate or WD??? Please Advise!

Hitachi, Seagate or WD???

I am looking to purchase a second hard drive to use as a slave to the already existing 70GB drive in my HP 720N. Currently my eyes are set upon a 160GB drive with an IDE interface along with the standard 7200 RPM, 8MB buffer, etc. However, I'm having a really hard time deciding which to go with of the three models listed below (all of which meet the aforementioned criteria):

Hitachi H3160B72P
Seagate Barracuda ST3160023A-RK
Western Digital Caviar WD1600JBRT

I don't do a lot of really heavy computing or gaming. I plan on using this drive pretty much just for file storage - e.g. music, movies, jpegs, documents, etc. I will leave XP and all my program files on the main drive. My main factors of consideration are: extended reliability, acceptable speed and seek times, won't overheat, low or acceptable noise.

Anyone out there with opinions, resources, etc. on these three models? I would really appreciate the help!

if your not using it for anything to taxing it shouldnt matter which one you use. ive perosnally never used a hitachi drive, so i can only comment on WD and seagate, both of which never given me problems
 
Any of those should be good. I have 3 hitachis and 1 seagate in my computer right now with no problems. I usually go with hitachi because they're generally cheapest and have lower seek times (some people stay away from them becaus of the whole history of the IBM deskstar which hitachi took over)
 
Thanks for the advice! Always good coming from an Allen/Marx fan :D

At this point I think I'm favoring the Seagate - it's actually a little bit less expensive locally than the Hitachi/WD and Frys/Outpost currently has a pretty good rebate going on it.

Yeah, seagates are good, I have a few running in different boxes with no troubles. The only brand I've really had troubles with is Maxtor.
 
ive read a few bad reviews about maxtor, but that my main drive im running atm and ive had no problems with it. guess i was a lucky one
 
Iv'e used seagate maxtor and WD,had no problems but I think Seagate and WD are the best, if you want quiet id reccomend WD but if you want security and quality I think that would be a job for Seagate:)
