Hitman Pro 2

Here, I wanted to bring Hitman Pro 2 to your attention, It's a bundle of a few free anti ad/spyware tools and virusscans, put together in one program, like:

-Ad-Aware SE (6.2)
-Spy Sweeper 3
-Spybot Search & Destroy 1.3
-CWShredder 2.15
-SpywareBlaster 3.3
-Spyware Block List
-Sysclean Package
-SuperDAT VirusScan

It's really good, you should check it out (even if the site is Dutch, downloading is easy ) What do you think of it Byteman?

Nice idea. I'll have to test and post back...

I did notice, they're running the old version of SpyBot, and Ad-Aware.

Ran 2 tests so far, results:

Pros:
Fabulous idea
Time saving
No knowledge needed, just run it and walk away (Note: see hanging comment below)

Cons:
Outdated software being used
-Adaware 1.05, not 1.06
-Spybot 1.3, not 1.4
-Spysweeper 3.3, not 3.4
-McAfee: daily definitions are 2 days old

Hung on spysweeper both times, (I had to nudge it, to get it going again)


Conclusions:
I think this company must have these downloads on THEIR server, so they are not the most current. But a great idea! (minus the hanging, and the Dutch)

Note:
I haven't uninstalled it yet, so I don't know how that's going to go,...pending...

Edit: Uninstall done. It leaves behind all the outdated software still installed, which you have to uninstall youself, plus it leaves it's program folder with some contents still there (but that's common with many programs). No registry keys left behind. They will have to fix their software, and use updated progs/updates, and offer an English version (so you can at least read the results), before I would think of recommending it to anyone.

*EDIT: Ok so they replied, the guy said all your con's and the part about updates, fixed software and an english version would be integrated in Hitman Pro 2.1, which should be released this weekend, I'll keep an eye on it

And SpySweeper won't be in the new HMP 2.1, cause apparently it's changed alot, they have to rebuild the module (or something like that )

Spy Sweeper 4 will be in Hitman Pro 2.1. It is a bit delayed, but it will be released very soon. The last beta version is being tested .

looking at it now...

if i've already got most of the software individually installed on my PC, should i uninstall it and let hitman do it all?

im not to trusting of all in one software.

EDIT: spy sweeper seem to be a 30-day trial, will hitman pro not use this program after 30 days?

EDIT2: well after about 20 mins of scanning i guess its done. it gives u a report sheet and mine says at one point "SpywareBlaster setup is not usable"

that progrma never came on the screen...i guess ti dont work

overall it looks pretty cool...but takes forever. seems to have found just as much as i could with SB S&D and adaware in about 4X the amount of time.

but i'll keep it - on second thought no i wont it seems to inflate my services tremendously, jsut sitting at desktp im now running 250MB pagefile usage...super high compared to b4 i installed it

I've seen this software before. It's nice and easy for the average user. But the only con is that the software is outdate and has a few kinks. But the idea is definitely there. It would be nice if we could just go out and buy a package like this and handle all of our issues easily. Thanks for sharing!

The software is no longer outdated. In the new version, all outdated programmes have been replaced by the new versions. I agree that Hitman Pro has quite a few kinks, but I've never had problems with Hitman Pro 2.
