Because I had a problem with a scanner (see http://www.computerforum.com/showthread.php?t=19704 for details), I must work on my son's computer where the scanner works perfectly. This computer was full of trojans, spywares and other crap. After several clean-ups I managed to get rid of most of them. But the computer is still acting wierd, ads pop up out of the blue, IE startpage is redirected, etc.
The problem is that right now I have no time to look at the HijackThis log because I have way too much work to do. :o
So please help me out on this one:

Download these programs.
CWShredder
Aboutbuster
Ewido
Ccleaner

Unzip them all to the desktop, check for updates (Ewido will need the update).

Then start > run, services.msc, stop this service and set the startup type to disabled.
Service: Network Security Service ( 11Fßä#·ºÄÖ`I)

Boot into safemode.
Run CWShredder, Then Aboutbuster twice, then a full scan with Ewido, then run the Ccleaner.

Then run Hijackthis and check these lines.

Close all windows and hit "fix checked".

Then delete this file.
C:\WINDOWS\winad.exe

Boot back to normal mode and post a new log.

This computer had a remarcable crap collection: more than 1500 files infected by (or related to) at least 35 type of virus, trojan, worm, spyware, adware, etc. (counting also the virus and spyware scan I done before those you suggested).
I gave my son internet connection only 3 month ago. How the heck he managed to collect all that malwares in this short time? Just wait until he comes home... :mad: :mad: :mad:

Hey Lorand.

Looks fine now. It's amazing how quickly youngsters can pick things up, clicking "yes" and "I agree" to everything will usually do it. I can't see an AV, I know you don't like them but I think this machine needs one. There's links to free ones and a few other things you might want here.
 
Thanks, I will definitely install an antivirus on that computer.
At his age (15 years old) it's normal to visit porn sites, so some sort of protection is needed. :)
