hl2 on widescreen

I have a screen thats resolution is 1336 x 800 pixels

What will happen if i want to play hl2 at this resolution, will it work widescreen, will it streach it. Will it leave strips down the side?

I don't know if it has that resolution as an option, but it should. Even if it doesn't support that resolution you can just set a custom resolution and you'll be fine.
