Hmm Big Problem.

I bought a new computer which did not come with an operating system.
I now have an XP disc. I put the xp disc into the cd drive, and not a lot happens. It comes up with a message, something about I must boot it in another way or it is not detecting it. I have a feeling I must change the settings to enable it to boot via the cd drive, I would use an operating system on a floppy, but the new comp does not have a floppy drive
(ironaically i thought why would I need one).
Any suggestions? Thanks.

You should always have a floppy

Anywya's this is what you need to do, you need to go into your computer bio's(Ussaly the delete key while strted up, it should tell you on your screen)

and then change the first boot device to your CD rom drive.
