Hmm...I wonder if that will work...

OK, we all know aluminum conducts heat good, but it also can do the same with cold. My case is alluminum so if I could make something that the case sits on that is REALLY cold that would make the case itself get really cold and therefore somewhat radiate cold or somehow make the case temp go down a littel. I wouldn't expect it to cool the computer down much at all, but it was a though that I had to get out.

Hmm.. Cold and hot, recipe for condensation, not very good for electrical component.

Exactly, you might have to cover everything in some kind of grease. Like the stuff you get with a VapoChill LS to put on your motherboard's socket.

so for example, if I were to leave the case in my garosh over night where its REALLY cold then the case would get cold naturally then use it that would be a bad idea? hmm...you pose a good point...

Have you heard of 'creep' (no, not being personal)

When you have variations in temperatures like that, there is a strong possibility of anything that is plugged in to 'creep'. This is why when some problems occur that you are asked to reseat the memory for example.

You may create more problems than it's worth.;)

Metal does not conduct cold (well, it can) Metal conducts something hotter than itself. What would actually happen is the cases heat would go into something colder. So yes it would cool the case, i just wanted to be a smartass and correct your science.

Nothing really "conducts" cold because heat always travels from an object of higher temperature to one of lower temperature.

No, I mean like the heat from some computer parts goes strait into the case, then the case would get hot, hence the cooling on it.

my case is aluminum.
its not heavy, i have no problem with my case.

get a fan or something to cool it.

and i think >garage< is spelled like that.

you'd need heatpipes going from the heats source, CPU, GPU, NB etc, to your case, which is hard to make as you'll need to detach it everytime you need to move your components around.

do you seriously spell like that?
with that spell checking comment, and the word spelled wrong in your signature.

make me think....

and diduknowthat was right, with the heatpipes.

That would be interesting, though..... Using your case itself to dissipate heat..... Although, it would also heat everything else up in the case and you would need serious airflow in both inside and outside the case.....

^^^^^that's where the cooling under the case to comes in. it radiates that heat out. Kinda like water cooling that's not in your computer, but rather outside of it. And yeah, I can't splle orf carp...I rely on technology for that. The only big word i know how to spell is "antidisestablishmentarianism" and yes, that is a real word. It means "you are against the people who are against the establishment". It has almost nothing to do with the point of what we are talking about, except about spelling...
