how does this sound to u guys?? (btw cannot change the processor)

amd sempron 1.8 3000+
1 gig of ddr pc3200 ram
Radeon X1300 256MB AGP
40 gig hdd (will get la bigger hdd ater)
LaCie 4x DVD±RW DL IDE Drive with LightScribe (Black) (will get later)
450 watt psu

does that sound like it would run games like call of duty 2, wow, doom 3, etc, and u think the psu will support all that?? Taking suggestions on anything else I need and btw: my video card has to be pci or a weird type of agp??

iunno about call of duty 2, it may, but i know it would play doom 3, the psu should support all that.

well, i mean i dont want it to be barely playing these games on low graphics, i mean i could handle the settings a lil over half way or half way but below that no, I want it to be completely non laggy

You might definitly have a problem playing newer games, including CoD2 with lag. A basic Sempron and a low-mid range AGP card isnt exactly a good combo for decent graphics.

450W PSU doesnt really tell us much. I am sure its sufficent but a few more details might be helpful just to verify.

well, I tht if i got a 512 mb video card my cpu couldnt handle it, might be new pc time, but ive been swinging back and forth on the idea for a week now!!

A new PC is always a good thing, just make sure you have a big enough budget to make sure its an UPGRADE instead of just a new computer.

yea a upgrade is what i need but pulling almost 650 bucks out of my wallet when theres nothing there is a hard task lol. current specs:
amd sempron 1.8 ghz 3000+
sis 760 with 128 mb shared memory
384 mb of ram (subtracting the shared)
40 gb hdd
win xp home
only have a cd writer (really want a dvd writer)
umm......am i leaving anything out?

just a suggestion, have you thought about gettin 2GB of ram? might just give you a little more "room to move" so to speak

I think he should use his money on a good gfx card and maybe a better cpu.. 1 GB of ram is enough for his purpose...
