hmmmm....

That's simply a replacement supply for an old "Boat Anchor" IBM I386 or similar case where they used 150w-180w supplies. You'll note that it isn't even an atx type supply there. Plus it's limited to a 20pin power connector for use on an old system only. Have any old 286-486 systems lying around?

Pentium I, II, or there-abouts. I beleive one of my PII's is running off a 150w power supply much like that one. And that brand sounds familiar... It's like some computer I worked on typically used those.

I'd love to see an ATX 286 motherboard :P

That would be a new one! "bringing back a 286? no thanks!" :P

By the time you got into PII and AMD K5 systems you were often seeing 180w and 250w supplies some AT type. Some vendors simply carry these for replacing the supply on old prebuilt pre-atx systems where those will work to make them available. You won't see any large inventory of them however. Those usually just take up shelf space in a back room somewhere. :D

286/486 and even P1s will generally use an AT connector, so a PSU like that wouldn't be compatible. It wouldn't power much - the amperage on the +12V rail is well below Intel's design recommendation for an SFX PSU of that wattage.

You have to remember just how much power was needed for the old systems then with 512mb actually being a big leap over 2-4-8-16-32-64-128-256mb increments. The video cards were 8-16-32-64mb gradually reaching 128mb at the time. Hard drives saw 13-16gb tops in 1999. Now you see 750gb sata drives along with 512mb+ screaming video cards depending far more power.

You should be able to run an 8800GTX (not Ultra though), and a Core 2 Duo with 4 hard drive in RAID. But no sound card because that will use up too much power.

Note @ TOO, i'm being sarcastic here, so don't tell me that i'm wrong and blah blah blah...

You won't be able to run any new atx card with an AT supply and 20pin power connector as well as the feed for the video card itself on any new board. It just won't happen. (I guess you are being sarcastic just a little? :P )
