Therotically yes. Although I would imagine the performance on that device would suffer the more drives you have on it. You should be able to add each drive to the main preexisting volume using the disk management tool in windows.

What os are you using? Windows server 2011 removed the feature that let you combine multiple drives to one position. However linux server will still let you or linux mce like I'm using. Also its a bad idea to start building volumes with that many drives unless your planning on running a raid setup...

Good point, if he experiences a drive failure odds are part of his file system would just up and disappear which could certainly be loads of fun.
