Hook my 360 up to my computer and take screenshots without a TV tuner?

Sorry, didn't see you posted back, that mini jack is for the remote. I don't NEED to record audio, as the main reason I got it for was so that I could replace this digital camera that I was using to take screenshots of my 360, and it serves that purpose WONDERFULLY. So I think I'm just going to accept that this card is broken, than once I get a job, get a REALLY nice one.

I figured it might be a remote by where it is located. But I had to confirm that not being familiar with that brand. With a direct video feed and the software that goes with a tuner card you can easily take screen shots of the incoming signal. That removes the need for an external camera. The only later needed however is converting the bmp or png files into jpg if you are posting them online.

It saves it as jpgs sometimes, other times it just saves it as whatever it wants, but as long as I can upload them on Photobucket, I'm happy. This is what I was using it for, see how you can click on the score and it takes you to the screenshot?

Before I'd have to take like 60 pictures to get one that looked like crap, now I just tap the spacebar to get one with excellent quality and get back to playing.

The link there is for those with an existing account, All I saw was your user name on the search line. You would need something like Faststone to take a screen shot of the page once you were logged on there in order to show it here.

I think you meant you needed to grab 60 before seeing one good enough to post. The problem with using an external camera rather then a capture while a direct feed is in use is the light refraction off of the screen where you lose quality right off.

Okay, here, before, I had to take like 100 pictures before I'd get one that'd look like this.

Now I can hit the finish the song, hit the spacebar, get one that looks like this, than go on my merry way playing another song.

Well now you are in good shape. Someone gave me a usb type camera sometime back that would never see anywhere near that level. But it was a little one shorter then your thumb and ran 98 software.

that's how the crappy picture one was, I liked it because it was smaller than an Ipod, but I paid $5 more for a TV tuner that gets perfect pictures.

Out of the two you linked there one looks like the camera was focused for nearby items while the second was zoomed into by simply making the adjustment there. With a tuner card having the refined means of processing visual data what you now have is clarity of image bascally. It's no longer out of focus with the live feed into it for that split second.

Well, sorry for bringing up this super old topic, but I finally got it to record audio, I wired a 3.5" jack into this big mess of wires that I've got going on, than plugged it into my mic jack, than messed with a few settings, and now I've got video and audio.

Halo Theme Song Guitar Hero III. I know, I got pwned in that song, but still, that's not the point, the point is I finally got it to record audio and video. I'm probably doing something wrong as I'm sure the company doesn't expect everyone, or really anyone, to do what I did to get it to record audio, but hey, it works.

1 question though, is this safe? I've got a cable with a RCA jack in, than going up into a splice that splits 1 way to go to the TV, than 1 with a 3.5" jack and the RCA jacks going into my computer. My question is is this going to burn down my house? I've got everything securely spliced, so no wires have a chance of touching.

I doubt it would burn the house down but could hurt the card if not wired correctly. Is that an analog output from the tv like a feed out to a receiver? That itself would be millavolts only no big amps there. I wouldn't leave it plugged in all the time only when in use as long as it is working out ok however.
