Hookup Help

(I'm wondering if it would be possible to hookup a sangean wifi radio to these speakers without a receiver or anything else.

the radio has Left and Right line-outs and the speakers use "Dual (bi-amp) 5 way binding posts" is there a cable that could bridge the gap?

edit:: oh, and if this isnt possilbe, or the best way to do things, I'd appriciate any suggestions for a radio+cd+(maybe wifi) audio system under $400

No.

The speakers are passive so therfore they need to be powered. This can be done with an amp or you could switch out the speakers to active monitors. Active monitors basically have the amps built into the speakers and allow for the RCA line out to be connected directly to the speakers themselves.

These speakers are self powered (active) and would work with the Sangean Radio you had listed :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA03V000DBK7

When you say "suggestions for a radio+cd+(maybe wifi) audio system under $400 " what are you expecting from the system? What is this going to be used for? Is sound quality a concern?

edit: just noticed the AV40's are out of stock, the AV30's are in stock though and are the same price as the Polk speakers you posted : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA03V000DBJ5

I'm looking for a versatile music system thats semi-portable in the sense that I can lug it around my house without too much effort.

I have classical music training but am by no means an audiophile so accurate sound would be nice but its not a huge deal as long its decent.

thanks for the reply
