Hope right forum...wireless to tv

Hey guys,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum. My question is I am building a new pc for games, but I would also like to use it on my tv. Is it possible to wirelessly send movies and music or to show the desktop on my tv or do I have to actually use an hdmi cable?
 
The only thing I can think of would be to use an old desktop and add a cheap video card with an HDMI port into it. You can just do remote view on whatever machine you're playing media from. That, or just use an HTPC...they're relatively easy to set up.

Wireless HDMI does exist, but it's incredibly expensive.

what do you mean by just use an htpc? the problem is I don't really wanna buy two pc's haha. The old desktop route with cheap video card wouldn't that not look as good as it would if i had the computer i'm building on the tv (going to us a gtx 460)?
 
There are a ton of things out there to send wireless signals to a TV. Just do a search for wireless PC to TV transmitter or something along that line.
