I just got an apollo 6800. these lines ive noticed in call of duty 2 and and ghost recon advanced warfighter. only seem to be noticeable when you look at the sky. horizontal lines that keep moving up and down. even when i kill the game while the card is still in 3d mode i assume i can see the lines on the whole screen and then in a few seconds they go away. Its not something i can capture on print screen either. i dont know what the problem is. driver issue, monitor problem... i dunno. anyone have any idea? help much appreciated.

Normally lines during 3D graphics end up being a faulty card. Perhaps try updating the drivers to the latest ones, then maybe getting a screen shot for us if it's still acting up.

definitely video card or monitor. have any extra monitors/ video cards lying around? hook up a diff. monitor and if it still happens then try a diff. video card. if you dont have the extras then borrow a friends. once you've figured out the problem you can use the extra parts or replace them with new parts.

Sorry, I think I was half asleep ^^; If he can't capture it, that's almost certainlly a monitor problem... Perhaps the Hz are too high?

If it is what i think it is then, this happens a lot with LCD monitors. Is the horizontal line not really a line but more of a distortion? If so, then i've seen this on older LCDs. I dont remember if it ever happened on my current one but I know my older one did that and I've seen other LCDs do that. Always when playing games too.

well its not a lcd monitor. its a crt. not sure if thats what you meant or not. the lines are more like a distortion id say. its only when gaming seemingly when the cards in 3d mode and fans at 100%. even right after i exit game there still there and then seemingly when the card drops back to 2d mode they go away. im running the games with it at 60hz. same as its always been.
