Horrible Computer Problems!

I just finished installing my new mobo and X1900. The first time XP booted up I was greeted with an error message about login-something needed to close. I just ignored it and began to install the various drivers. Over the next hour or so, programs would randomly end up closing with the "BLANK needs to be closed, sorry for the inconvenience...do you want to send an error report" window popping up every time. The computer was also randomly restarting whenever I tried to run windows update.

I figured I might as well just format and reinstall windows but I still had the same problems after. I'm also getting blue screens of death during the windows installation and while it is loading. Also, during the instalation I will get the message "The file BLANK has failed to copy". One thing I did notice is that although I have a SATA Hard drive I never had to do the "Press F6" thingy when windows was installing. Could this have something to do with the problem?

I've even tried installing a version of 2000 I had laying around, and had the same problems.

Any help would be appreciated.
