Horrible FPS

In CS 1.6. I can muster out a mere 30-60fps when it shows 60fps, it looks greatu untill it drops. This is with vsync/AA off. If i load bf2. it looks excelant on all high settings. Also, on CS:S, i get from 70-100fps, and its awesome. Anyone else hav/had this problem?know the answer to it??

I just built this thing, and got it updated/drivers installed. These are my specs...
3.06Ghz Intel P4
2.5Gb PC4200 DDR2 Ram
GeForce 6800 GT OC 256MB RAM Pci-E
250Gb Sata 7200rpm 16mb cache hd
Abit Fatal1ty Motherboard
7.1 Surround Sound Card
550w Ultra X-Connect PSU
Windows XP Pro SP2
 
I had that problem too, i was getting 30fps in CS 1.5. Basically I just tweaked around with the settings, and it started playing at over 100fps.
 
sometimes hidden codes or patches do these kinds of things, when did the problem start? did you do anything, or did you get the game like this?
 
I fixed it. I have been turning AA, and vsync off. I just turned off vsync, and left aa on, and its awesome.! Thanks for the help though
