i know 6600GTs are known to run hot but how hot is too hot?
i was testing my system yesterday and decided to load my graphics card using ATI tool's 3D window while checking the graphics card temperature, i was a bit taken back when it got all the way to 88 degrees. i dont have any stability problems but i find the level of the temperature quite worrying.
anyone have any input on this?

The 6600GT has a threshold of 128°c so 88°c is quite a way off.

The 6600GT's heat issue is company dependant. My XFX has always had low temps, except using the ati tool, which then took it up to like 70

its still higher than i would expect though; ive not managed to find anything with regards to the Galaxy 6600gt. im contemplating applying some AS5 to it to see if that helps

Hey

Actually, mine would go over 90 Celsius with my old fan and heatsink. With the 6600GT, there is common problem in the HSF being wobbly and not in the greatest contact with the GPU. I bought a new one and now never get over 50. I would change the HSF if I were you.
