Hotmail 2 questions

i just created a new account and the firstquestion i have is how do i use this account for messenger? i just cant seem to be able to do it.

and the second question is... when you have just created a new account and filled in all of the details there is a section at the bottom that asks you to type the letters and numbers that are displayed. what is the point in that?

you enter the e-mail address and the password into MSN Messenger.... Or windows live messenger as the new version is so dubbed.

Authorization, it's to stop bots and automated programs signing up for tones of e-mail addreses (normally to be used for spam).... A robot can't "see" or decipher the text in those images, only something with actual vision and perception can read the text (i.e. a human)... This is quite a common system used on a lot of online registrations.

thanks for that dragon. i got my messenger working. it was playing up and it all meakes sense now about the hotmail thing. hmm bots and other progs. thanks.
