Hotmail/gmail Question

I have a hotmail account, but want to convert to gmail. Is there any way thru hotmail to forward my mail to my new gmail account? I couldn't find anything...thanks.
 
I dont believe its possible, but then again, I've never tryed, looking into e-mail forwarding on google

okay, well gmail says you can get all your e-mail accounts (including hotmail) to come to your gmail inbox, but thus far I have no be able to get this process to work.
 
I'm not complaining, I'm just not overly computer saavy and I wanted to know if this is too big of a task for me to take on...
