Hi, just got a new computer. For some reason, I can't send an e-mail on my hotmail account. I click send, and I get an "error on page" message and it WILL NOT send. I've restarted computer, have no idea whats going on. Help would be appreciated.

Also, for some reason, I cannot download AIM. I click teh download button, and it stays at the "preparing to download" frame.

not sure if it will help the issue or not, but i'd say to try and download another browser.
personally i like firefox. see if that will work.
if not, i'd call norton (i think that's what you said your AV was) and see if they could help you out. might be a firewall issue that just disableing it won't help

i have heard of problems simmilar to this with norton, and the only way to fix it was to uninstall it.

try reformat it. Because people download other crap on your computer, and actually you can choose custom when you're about to in the stall the stuff. That's what I did with my lappy and it works just find now. But you gotta know what you need to install. For example: there is this one cd that you might need other junks but you don't need that. Click on hardware, and just install the hardware section and that's about it. Oh yea video cards, if you have ati go to www.ati.com

thanks....

Thank you guys for the help. What I ended up doing is UNINSTALLING internet explorer through add/remove window components, and that did the trick. Thank you so much for your replies.

ummmm you uninstalled iexplorer.exe??

lol...good luck with that as it is very much NOT recommended....I can't wait to see your new posts about why your windows is #@$%ed

please explain....

please explain...I obviously don't know what I am doing. I went to start, control panel, add/remove windows components, and DE-selected internet explorer. After doing that, I was able to send an e-mail by selecting a link and then travelling to hotmail. It appears that I still do have internet explorer, because when I select a link, internet explorer is what comes up. What should I/should have do/done????

....

jerkstore, I went back in and RE-installed the internet explorer through add/remove windows components. After re-installing it, I can still send an e-mail, so I will keep it on. Thank you for letting me know.
