Hotmail, Is it gone forever?

Ok so about a month or so ago I had my hotmail account hacked not sure how but my password and security question has been changed and I have had that account for about 7 years. The secondary e-mail account that I had so incase of forgotten pasword has been long since expired. On that note I know that I am pretty much out of luck, but it is bothering me because there is a couple of contacts that I no longer have and would really like, and a couple of e-mails that are somewhat important with registration information that contains pursched software keys and so.

Question does any one know of any further steps that can be taken with hotmail to attempt to retrive my account by contacting them or anything.

when my hotmail account possibly got hacked, I simply emailed them, they asked for details of the account, when it was made, possible previous passwords, emails or folders that may be contained in the account, and they simply reset the password for me no worries
