hello all,

i am trying to install another os on my computer, but preferably i wouldnt like to get rid of the old vista (initially installed on the laptop) as of yet, so could anybody explain the process of putting a new windows xp along with the vista, from what i know is i have to allocate some ammount of space for it with partition software (partition magic i guess)...and then point to it while installing xp.
please educate me on how to make this partition and could it affect the root/file system in anyway of vista, and if i have the drive divided in two c: and d:, obviously c is a system drive, where i would like xp to exist) how about d? would new xp see the d drive as normal?

cheers and thanks in advance,

Vista has built in Partitioning available in Disk Management.

There are also many good step by step tutorials on the Internet on how to create a Dual Boot setup with Vista, and XP.
