How are these computers?

the best of those three or the best period? If you want a prebuilt one that is the best, you need to look at like alienware (even though I don't like them so much), but regardless, it would be much cheaper to build it yourself, especially gaming rigs

That HP looks to be a pretty good machine. I have one just like it(well, basically... A compaq with an AMD processor) and it's been a great little system.

The HP as the nice chip but crap graphics. The Gateway has an equally nice chip (the 920) and a 6600 Gfx card. Granted the 6600 isn't the best now either but it's better than integrated. The HP is using 2Gb of DDR and the Gateway is using 1Gb of DDR2 (you shouldn't be able to notice a difference between DDR and DDR2 as an end-user though). So basically it's whatever is the cheapest. The best solution would be to build your own machine which would cost a lot less and you would be able to customize it a lot more.

You shouldn't choose Dell, HP, Compaq.. and etc. Try getting a custom built that runs faster and easy to upgrade when something gets old on your computer.

mwahsun - Have you even used a Dell, HP, Compaq, or other system like that? They are not bad, and they don't run slower. Now some are hard to upgrade, but I know compaqs(at least right now) have nothing propriatary in them.

Lord AnthraX - Oops, I didn't even look at the Gateway's specs...hehe, I didn't figure it would have some ture GFX card :P

I would pick the HP, but then add in a better video card..cause that 6600 is going to need to be upgraded real soon if you are really intent on gaming at good levels. That $800 price difference between the Gateway and HP would buy a heck of a video card.
