How big of a Power Supply do I need for this Graphic Card

I was planning on running a 8600 GTS e-Geforce 256mb on my Core Duo Processor. How much watts do I need?

My computer is a Hp Pavillion a1640n

It has 1 harddrive 1 cd lightscribe burner 2 gigs of ddr2 ram and core 2 duo intel.

Not many watts, around 400 watts should be enough (assuming it's a quality PSU). Also, seeing that you can HP make sure it doesn't use any special parts before you go racing out and grabbing a powersupply.

I wouldn't go less than a 450 watt model. But that's just because I do not like to stress the power supply or the motherboard.

And i think they recommend 24 amps on the 12v rail.

Recommended is a 350w with 18 amps.

What type of Core 2 Duo do you have? An E2140 and E6700 have diffferences...
