How can I completely remove a program?

What is the best software tool for completely removing a program from a hard drive so there is no way of detecting that it was ever installed?

Haha, I'm sure he thought of that.

First use a program like what patrickv said, Smarty Uninstaller, or what I use is YourUninstaller. Then reboot and use a good registry cleaner to get rid of all the invalid registry entries.

But if you're talking about something you wouldn't want a government agency or the like to see... in that case you would probably just want to destroy the hard drive.
