seriously - would ice work ???

its just with the hot weather right now in england my computer is constantly making noises form the fan really loudly

or putting a fan next to it to add extra coldness, ive seen a few pics of this

and what dangers are there doing this ?

Do you mean like putting a desk fan next to the computer? That would be the best thing to do, and should cool it down alot. I know what you mean, im way down south in portsmouth and the weather is ridiculously hot, ive been sitting on my neighbours drive drinking cola and listening to music.

As with ice, you always run the risk of water leakage which will short your computer.

I would go by a couple of cheap fans. Put one in the font of your comp and one behind creating some circulation. That should help out a lot. I dont think Ice would do anything but cause problems.

You shouldn't put it at the back. The air, ideally, should flow in from the front and side, and out of the back. If you have a fan like that at the back, its just blowing the hot air back in so it has nowhere to escape. Just one at the side with the side of the case off should lower the temperature enough

are you try 2 be funny? if you put a fan next 2 a metal, what the hell is that going 2 do? absoluelty nothing, soo you open it up, and let the fan blow air inside.

how do you feel your computer getting hot? i mean i never feel anything...
although i have almost 10 fans, everywhere...
even on a hard drive,
hm, there are ram fans, my friend has

2 fans at the back
1 in front
1 at the side
1 on cpu
2 on small fans on a hard drive
2 fans on a psu (very loud)
big fan on a video card. lol

what the hack, the computer feels the same as before...
well, i never had any problem with heat

try buying a water cooling, i heard its the second best way to cool your computer
very efficient, and quiet... and they are much better than fans, i once tried to get it... its cheap too only $100~++

where do you live?
good luck, anyway...

Using fans as already mentioned will help the pc but not you. If you can keep ambient temperature down, the pc will look after itself. With 300-500 watts of trapped heat, the room temp will get too hot for you and the pc. Get doors or windows open to get the heat out of the building or the room. Preferably put one of those (approx) 18" fans near the door or window to extract air. Best to have door and window part-open to encourage throughflow. Don't allow outside air in if it's hotter than inside air.

what case do you have for your computer? I am guessing its a ready made one, if you know the model number let us know, hopefully from that we can work out how and where to fit extra fans into your system

lets see, it will melt and get your computer all wet. liquid cooling should keep you cool. just have to find a UK retailer
