Hi there,

I am having a problem which is I want to disable internet access to some user accounts so that I have enable my proxy port to 8080, now when ever I try to get into internet with other accounts it shows me exactly where I need to change, in my case its shows exact path to LAN Connection and then to Proxy.

But I don't want my users to know about it, how can I change this message or even don't show this message to any of them.

Note: I am using Windows 7. and the following picture depicts the situation I want to edit/not to show.

hey I should have told more details about my situation I guess, I am a Technology Analyst at a reputed university in North America and my task is to block student account from using internet :( it was easy till we used xp, the error message was fine for us but now in windows7 it shows exact path which really bothering us a lot. I have already tired google and still trying. I thought you might help me in this scenario, but if you still think "This doesn't sound malicious at all" I have to go through Google :( :(

but thanks anyway!! I appreciate your advise.

Your username is Virus7.
You're claiming to be a technology analyst for a university that needs to block internet access. There are much better, and easier ways of doing what you need that don't involve proxying to a different port.
Call me paranoid, but that seems suspicious.

I'm just going to go ahead and call shenanigans on your claim without some valid proof. You're not going to social engineer anyone here (At least I hope not) into helping you. Even if you do have proof, like I've already stated it's against the rules here.

Enjoy your googling.

If you were really who you say you are, you'd know how to block internet access

Maybe much better way is there and i saw few on internet but the problem is i am only responsible for a department not for whole university. to let you know I am new there too, anyway am not gonna try to prove it to you and i dont think its actually necessary :)

If it really against forum rules I shouldnt ask for it, i was thinking its aint gonna be a very big problem if i ask it here. Even if i wanted to do it to my pc and restrict my standard users what could be a problem to know it?? really food for thought..

anyway thanks a lot... I will find out some way... :)
