My computer has been consuming alot of space, altho i have deleted alot of programs and files. (including internet files) .. Does anybody know what i can do? Or what could be the problem of losin so much space when im not even saving anything? Could this be a virus? ... (got mcarefree scan)

Sounds like a load of now empty temp install folders are chewing up drive space where you need a drive cleaning tool. One freeware good for that is called CCleaner found at http://www.ccleaner.com/
Memory and drive space only connect when the lack of drive space cramps that required for the paging file used for virtual memory. With XP that's abouit 2gb of drive space reserved. Besides cleaning up useless files and folders the drive may have become heavily fragmented from a large change of programs along with the manual deletion of things.
The system registry is another item that sees an accumilation of now useless entries when uninstallers leave things behind still trying to load drivers no longer on the drive. After a good period of time any system will see a good build up of junk to put things in that sense where the drive along with the registry need a good cleanup. Another thing that often helps is reducing the number of items in the startup group found in the msconfig utility. Anything not video or sound related and non essential can be disabled from automatically loading up along with Windows to help free up more resoiurces and often see Windows runs smoother.
You simply type msconfig in at the Run prompt right off of the Start menu and press enter or click the OK button to bring that up and proceed to the startup tab. If you decide to go further into the services tab make sure to check off the "hide all microsoft services" box to avoid disabling any essential background services for Windows otherwise mixed in with the rest.
Anything else can be re-enabled later if found needed like a service for the antivirus program installed and other things. Disabling an essential service however will likely see Windows stall. oops! Once any change is made it will take a restart to see that go into effect where you then place a check on the "do not show again" upon reboot and seeing the msconfig message popup. That's a minor annoyance.

another good idea may be to Defragment the harddrive from Accessories - system tools. it tidies up fragmented information and allows programs / your whole pc to speed up a bit, along with creating a small bit of space.
You would surprised at times how little things like small files can become heavily fragmented and hard to defrag. Often an entire drive will show only a slight level of fragmentation overall while a few stubborn files will appear as red in the analysis. If they turn out to be nothing important manual removal is the option for some. A periodic defrag never hurts in keeping that low even at 0% levels.

Another older freeware called RegCleaner also has an automatic registry cleanup option there but opens to a main window displaying all non MS programs installed with the main reg keys on display. That's more for the advanced user since some won't read the "help" before simply removing main keys instead of going to the tools>registry cleanup link on the menu bar. ouch!

The RegCleaner is one that runs on everything from 95 to Vista having a wider compatibility but doesn't quite find what the Eusing cleaner does while far better then CCleaner's limited cleanup option.

For those who have experience with the registry on different versions of Windows it can be an effective tool.

theres been a virus going around that downloads child porn onto ur computer.... if thats not it which it probably isnt, it could be some other kind of virus, i suggest saving the files u need and reformatting.
