How can I make Chrome remember its position when I reopen it?

I've never had this issue before. When I reopen Chrome it has always opened in the same position that I left it, which is maximized vertically.

But last night I started typing and accidentally had my hands in the wrong position, so instead of hitting the intended keys, I ended up hitting what turned out to be some kind of keyboard shortcuts that changed the position of the Chrome window. It unmaximized it slightly, and I think moved it around.

After putting it back where I want it, now it reopens unmaximized again every time. How can I fix this?

Thanks!

Chrome saves its window size and position when you close it properly. What likely happened is that when the accidental keystrokes moved the window, Chrome saved that new position as its last known state. The fix is straightforward: position Chrome exactly where you want it, then close it fully by clicking X on the last open window or going to the three-dot menu and choosing Exit. Not just closing one tab but actually quitting Chrome completely. Next time you open it, it should restore to that saved position. If it still opens wrong after that, try this: close Chrome, open File Explorer and navigate to C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default, find the file called Preferences, and in there search for window_placement. You can delete just those lines or reset that section, but honestly the close-and-reopen method should fix it without needing to edit files.
