How Can I Tell A CPU is For That Motherboard?

Hey, I tried google and everything but I can't just find it I want to know how can I tell a CPU is made for a Sertant Mother Board. I don;t want to buy something I dont need. No one wants to do that.
 
I don't have one, I just want to know what I would need to look for like to see if it matches do could you give me a example.

Like do i look at the Processor Class: on the CPU and for the mother board i look at the Processor Socket: ??? or Processors Supported:and see if my processor name is there? im so like..
 
What processor are you looking at or have? There are alot of different Sockets/chipets that support different processor so its kinda hard to just say this supports this or that. It would be a long list. If you know what processor you want or have we can narrow it down to a board.
 
I dont have a processor or anything but like im trying to say is how would i know a processor is for a mother board is there a site i can go to or do i look at something on the site im buying from? Its hard to explain for me to say.
 
To see wether a CPU fits a certain motherboard, you have to look at the socket,like for example,i`m using Celeron D (bite me if you don`t like it lmao) and so i`d have to look for a compatible motherboard with the processor socket that the cpu will fit, and the socket i`m using is LGA 775.And with the processor socket it`ll support more than one CPU like the LGA 775 supports Intel Pentium 4
Intel Pentium D
Intel Celeron
Intel Celeron D
Intel Pentium XE
Intel Core 2 Duo
Intel Core 2 Quad
Intel Xeon

Adn when buying a CPU it should say which socket it will fit in like the Intel COre 2 duo for example
Processor Number E8400
Architecture 45 nm technology
L2 Cache 2x3MB
Clock Speed 3.00 GHz
Front Side Bus 1333MHz
Socket LGA775

And so you just look for a socket LGA 775.

Hope i`ve been of some help.Oh and also,i think the FSB have to match or something or you get a bottleneck,when building PCs,hope someone else have elaborate, as i`ve never built a PC before but i`ve read it in books and mags or post a new thread.

It`s ok glad to have helped.
I must stress,do so more research or another post if you`ve building a new computer as i`m positive that the FSB speeds much match or something or there`ll be a bottleneck.As i don`t want you to do it then it blows up and i get the blame lol.Like i`ve said i`ve never built a pc but i understand the basics:D

Oh btw you are one lucky Sob (no offence) living were you are.*sigh*
