How can I tell what version I have?

I have windows vista but I donno if I have the 32-bit or 64...
it comes with IE 7 right? Cause I was going to download IE 8...but they have different downloads for the different OS.
 
Start menu > right click "computer" > click properties. all the information is right there.
From now on wait more than 5 minute before you bump... try at least 24 hours.

May I advise you to instead use Firefox. It's a much more safer and stable browser! Good luck.

Ever since Windows, IE has always had a problem. Most issues are because of the fact that people(hackers) targeted the browser due to its widespread use. And within IE there are always bugs and loops that are easily exploited by hackers. Firefox however is one of the safest browsers on the internet. They both provide the same service, Firefox is just better at keeping you safe :D

Regarding waiting on the 5min. bump: It's just good forum behavior.

On the note of IE8, I would also go with JTM on the Firefox recommendation. The first time I loaded up IE8 was with a fresh install of Windows 7. I found it laughable that I was asked if I wanted "Compatibility Updates" for web pages to be loaded for those that are apparently incompatible with Internet Explorer...what the??? :D

In my experience, Internet Explorer has shown itself more and more to be the anal-retentive, red-headed stepchild of the internet.

Technically forum manners would be waiting longer than 24 hours. Not bumping every 10 minutes because your impatient...

Sorry, I wasn't clear earlier. What ukulele_ninja mentioned is more along the lines of what I was trying to convey. :o
