best thing to do IMO would be to make the slideshow of photos in windows movie maker if you know how to do that , and then you can add an audio track to that quite easilly

and then you can add different transition effects to the photos
 
Or, you can use Microsoft PowerPoint and add in the music. You can make it automatically play.

But Windows Movie Maker would be easier, you have a little more freedom with effects etc...
 
powerpoint is not the best to use, its more of a business program. I say download microsoft photostory. Its a great program!
 
I have experience with adding music with using Microsoft PowerPoint.... try this on it works good.
 
PowerPoint is not for business work. I use it a lot, instead of word because it allows me to place the text, images and others exactly where I want them. Also, in the 2007 version it has enhanced effects for your shapes/images/text (or any other stuff) so you can design it very freely and I like it a lot.
I made with it a simulation of an operating system and it is very cool: it has music, effects..just like vista :D (but no glass fx). It is a very cool program, but the animations are pretty limited despite the fact that i used them very lot.. I would love to have many more animations (like 3D rotating effect). Also the triggers...they make my simulation possible...the menus. Of course, I could use separate slides for the menus, but triggers will allow me to open multiple menus at the same time.
 
Windows Movie maker is kinda glitchy for automated slide maker. I tried and it was only able to make a 2:30 slide show, using 30 or so pictures. If you want a professional looking one, go online and look up some DVD slideshow maker. There are many out there, you might have to try a few before finding a good one.
 
whoa, first five or so posts both new members with what seems to look like almost a written out script.....ah whatever. I'm just getting my panties in a bundle.
