seriously guys if you are up to it build me a good "cheap" tower that is actually a good one for dial-up net and word processing. from newegg.

Comes to $276, dam you VAT and rip of british prices, i did actually think that was ok, and i was trying to make it semi-decent and useable, i'l;l have another go now

and $145 for a pc, omg, thats only £83, i'm moving to america :P

edit: god, i never knew intels were soo cheao, it's cut aroudn £20 off!

he isn't asking what is cheapest for the price... he is just curious how cheap a computer can be built using new parts... he isn't buying it, he just wants to see how cheap can it go

Gigabyte 939socket motherboard $55.99
Corsair 1gb ram $70
LITE-ON CD/DVD Rw $30
Geforce 6600GT $120
Then just get what ever case you want.

That right there is $450 and what should do you good for how cheap it is.

The idea isnt to find a cheap good one, its to find the cheapest one possible
 
lol well, I think my 200 dollars emachine was the best deal, ofcourse i had to get up at 5 in the morning and stand in line at best buy during day after thanks giving.

Specs

Celeron D 2.66ghz
512mb PC2700 ram
Intel Extreme Graphics 3
80gb hd w/ 2mb cache
CD+RW/DVD drive
some 8 in 1 media card reader

AND it came with monitor, keyboard, speakers, mouse. All for $200=)
