how come its so much faster after a fresh reformat?

Nope and, well, yes; it's just with Windows in general, defragging can only do so much, but there's little fragments and such left on the drive that it has to search through, slowing down the computer. On a fresh install, there isn't any, making it easier for the compy to search. It's actually true for Macs as well...
 
yea? thats interesting... maybe it has something to do with the ntfs filesystem you think?

It could be possible spyware or ad adware or anything, and sometimes its not even abd things, just extra processes build up from programs.
