I bought 2 32 gig flash drives from some guy on craigslist for 30 dollars each because I wanted to record the 49er games on my computer, then send the files to my father in seattle. I tested them out in the parking lot before buying them, and under properties it says 32 gb, and it mounted like a drive, and I could even put files on it. I went home and tried to put movies on it. Once the file was on it wouldnt play. I also noticed if i make a folder, then rename it, and open it, there a bunch of crap in it, like letters and symbols scattered. I thought they were buggy because they were FAT32, so I tried to format as NTFS, but windows wouldnt let me. I then did it in LINUX, and it worked, but the drives are still totally messed up. I also observed the drives had titles like "kingston 32 gb" then after the format the titles were gone. The guy wont answer my calls and the posting is already deleted from Craigslist. The point of this story is I know I already got scammed, but how was somebody able to make these drives look so real, and even transfer small files, and music, but not video files? Is it possible the drives are not broken, and Im doing something wrong?
